  Anora is the story of a sex worker who has agency and a full emotional range, both are uncommon in cinematic depictions of sex workers. The real kicker is the emotional catharsis depicted at the very end of the film.

  I saw this at a Landmark First Look, and I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. This is a high-quality period piece about the news crew that filmed and aired the first live “terrorist” incident. I appreciated the nuance they used in producing a film involving a highly-polarizing conflict: the settler-colonization of Palestine. The film goes deeper by examining the social, political, cultural, and personal conflicts between the team members that made the broadcast possible.
