  Had to watch for my modern French history course and I loved it. Groundbreaking for the time period both in cinematography and subject matter. Great allegory for the pre WWII aristocratic attitude in France. I def intend to rewatch sometime this year there’s so much to unpack and it gets a little better the more I think about it.
