    The story: I sleep (zzz...)

The way Adil and Bilall elevate the action with the camera zooming flying zipping around in such wonderfully creative ways: REAL SHIT, THAT'S IT RIGHT THERE

    Oscar Nominees Death Race 2024

#50/53 - Pretty uneven (the middle bit with the children and accounting is just boring) but I quite liked the original take on revisionist history

Lachman's cinematography is pretty unreal, but I am a little :| about it taking Zone of Interest's spot.

Working my way through Oscar nominees of 2013.

65 people on this site have watched this. An American-made narrative feature film nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song.

Now of course, the nomination was rescinded after illegal campaigning by the co-songwriter, but it still holds the distinction of being one of the 5 films nominated, alongside such films as Her and Frozen.

    The Father

    ★★★★½

Old age is the goal of life, at least theoretically. Every animal has survival instincts so that they can live as long as possible. For humans, dying too young is the ultimate tragedy.

But living to an old age is also, contradictorily, a curse because of its physical and mental toll.

The Father is devastating in its presentation of dementia, entirely from the sufferer's perspective.

I wasn't expecting this to affect me emotionally as much as it did. So much of it took me by surprise.

One of the best written screenplays of 2020, and Anthony Hopkins puts on a masterclass.

    Absolutely see this one.
