    That slap scene, where Tibbs slaps him back… that is a whole other level of brilliance. Like, it's frustrating and insane that Hollywood is still reluctant to display THAT kind of thing. I mean when was the last time you saw that in an american movie? Heck, when's the last time you have seen a gay man slap back against a bigot? Or a woman slapping back?

    I admit, the acting in this is unbelievably hokey, but the seismic moments are monumental.

    Ok, I DO like the look of this movie. And I just have a love for films with a woman that kicks ass and all the action is wire-fu. Having the villains be a church-y corporate cult is a plus. The problem is that the film is trying too hard to be both very serious and very sentimental. All the “sweet” moments with the kid are laughably bad and all the actors are way out of their depth.     Since I'm autistic I might as well say something. Though you really don't have to be autistic to see the issue here.

    So… autistic actors exist. In fact many autistic actors reached out to Sia on twitter in disappointment after the trailer drop. Sia's response ranged from naiveté to unacceptable (" You are probably just a bad actor.") Sia made other awful responses that I’m not going to repeat here.
