I like when movies are good and are not The First Omen. Boring...relies almost solely on jump scares. Also relies too heavily on Ralph Ineson's dope voice. I'm not sure why people think films like these are scary. They're not. So many moments made me roll my eyes so far back into my head I could see my fucking brain. I'm really surprised James Wan didn't have anything to do with this film. I don't know...horror is subjective I suppose.

So yeah, for me it was a erious snooze fest. Religious horror is so hard to get right.

Another solid genre blending film from Bong Joon Ho. Absurd, funny, tense, and beautiful. Mother isn't as strong as Parasite or Memories of Murder imo...but definitely a worthwhile watch. Very high dropkick count.

Early Disney Renaissance was pretty dope. The story is what it is. Kinda misogynistic. Even though it's supposed to be about seeing through surface appearances to find true beauty, it comes off a bit more like an abusive relationship. Not surprising since it was written in the 1700s. That being said, Beauty and the Beast was still a movie I watched so many times when I was a wee lad and I still enjoy it.

Hot take...I enjoyed A Simple Plan more than Fargo. Great film with moving performances, concise directing, and a strong screenplay. That last scene with Billy Bob Thornton really got me.

I had never heard of this film before a week or two ago. Not sure if that means it isn't mentioned enough and is criminally underrated or if I just don't pay enough attention to what's out there. Damn good movie.
