American Psycho 2000
Such an accurate depiction of yuppie culture, it absolutely disgusted me. The contrast between the murder scenes and his pop CDs playing in the background was actually unsettling (it is overused, but just like jump scares, it’s very effective when done correctly). The scene of Christie’s murder had my heart rate skyrocketing!! The symbolism of the peeling face mask did not go unnoticed, and as always, I’m a huge fan of artwork of any kind portraying the gradual but noticeable transition to insanity *chef’s kiss*🤌 I appreciate the meaning and quality of the movie, that said, I’m not eager to watch it a second time.

I’d describe whatever sad attempt at romance I just witnessed as an edgelord’s dream come true. Who knows, maybe the line between badass/reasonably provocative and too edgy is thin but damn they were WELL past it.
