  THE cinematic event of our generation. This faith driven spectacle transcends its sci-fi predecessors. I’ve seen reviews saying Denis’ love of shallow depth made the shots more dull and even ugly, but the shallow depth makes it more intimate to the characters, reminding you that this story isn’t about the marvellous landscape which Part One already transported us to, but rather a character study of Paul Atreides; what happens when the “chosen one” wants to lead a course that ends in paradise, but is fuelled with revenge and the yearning for power?
