  i have always had a huge interest in criminology, forensics and things of that nature, and the case of sixteen-year-old junko furuta has always haunted me. if you're going to make a film focusing on one of the most horrific cases of real-life rape, torture and murder only fifteen years after it occurred it's probably not the greatest idea to frame the ringleader of her torture as the protagonist or in a sympathetic light.
