Captain America: Brave New World 2025
No charisma, no heart, no soul. More of the same.

Nickel Boys 2024
When I was at Howard, I had a professor tell me, “you can’t shoot every film like photography.” It irritated me at the time. I still sit with it from time to time. I think I’ve made my peace with it. Babygirl 2024

Saturday Night 2024
Late Night Trio #1
This is the 1st film I watched in what I’m calling “The Late Night Trio”: Saturday Night, Woman of the Hour, & Late Night with the Devil, the three films released 2023-2024 based on the late night television culture of the 70s. A wild time.
As the lightest of the three, Saturday Night is a wild ride, nonetheless. It watches a bit like a memoir reads, a series of vignettes tied together by a main character, in this case Gabriel LaBelle as Lorne Michaels. It’s fun. I’m into origin stories. I guess this qualifies as such.
Also, loved the 16mm 🎥
