  Did I watch this ironically or unironically? Where does one end and the other begin? What’s the point of it all? ANYWAY this obviously did not age well but the themes still felt really resonant. Here I am fresh off a divorce heading to Japan. My ex is going to Costa Rica. 15 years ago I probably would’ve gone to Italy, her to Bali. All that really matters is that Elizabeth Gilbert is queer now 💜

  Was it like a bunch of other movies? Ya. Are all those movies so fun to watch, please give me 17 more? Also ya. And while we’re at it, this was kinda Longlegs coded but I liked this way more. This was a decent time at the movies, I laughed, I was surprised, and I got to watch Ayo do anything for an hour and 45 minutes. What more do you need!!

  Finally saw The Descent and was like wait 47: meters down unchanged is a cheap riff of this. Gave this a rewatch to confirm, IT IS. Sadly made it not hit the same, so I must downgrade this :/ still screamed every time there was a shark jumpscare tho

  Must watch if you’re looking for a social commentary that has no idea what it’s saying! Defund the police storyline, jocks gay bashing, and a white supremacist podcast host all in the first 15 minutes! Second hand embarrassment was so strong I had to turn this off
