  From start to finish, it’s almost as if you’ve sat down and read an amazing book.

  The storytelling that Kubrick manages to achieve through his direction is unmatched and is arguably better than some of his other attempts.

  Admittedly, I’m a sucker for historical dramas / fiction, but this is on another level.

  All in all, one of the best films ever made.

  The Brutalist 2024

  First and foremost, I owe it to myself to rewatch this before I give it a numerical rating. 

  I had planned on watching The Brutalist ever since I saw the trailer at the cinema. After the Oscars, I was reminded of it with ferocious adamancy. ‘So, why not watch it now?’ I asked myself. The unnecessary answer that I in turn came up with was immediate, and apparently deliberate even if unconscious: ‘Because you know it will be difficult.’
