This time it was the extended version woohoo
Bonked down because the people I watched this with would not stop talking or get off their phones and it made it worse for me :)
This is such a beautiful story, I would change absolutely nothing about this. The casting is perfect. The scenery is perfect. I identified with all of the characters at different times in deep and substantial ways, how heartbreaking. The non-tangential timeline was thought-provoking and kept the ending all the more staggering. Women will provoke the world to spite the ones they love, with no sacrifice too great against themselves. And they will STILL believe they are not worthy. I cannot believe this is the THIRD time Greta Gerwig has personally attacked me.
"And I'll watch."
I can definitely see why people love this so much! I watched this because I wanted to read the Hobbit due to my affinity for little guys and Jesus Christ I laugh so hard when Frodo is onscreen. He has maybe 30 lines throughout the film and the rest is him looking slightly pained and unreasonably small love it. There’s also no way Gandalf is dead there’s two more movies and that was way too sudden. I can’t believe Tolkien invented falling. That’s crazy.
