Wasn't particularly interested in any scene until the scene when they pretend to call their friends on the phone. That scene is an absolute masterpiece on its own, but more importantly, it compacts down every scene that came before in a way that could be described as tidying it. Then every scene afterwards slowly recreates the mess originally set out in a strangely poetic way. Will probably enjoy more on rewatch.

Indescribable misery hanging over scenes of absolute beauty. Like, this is undoubtedly one of the best looking films of all time. Pawlikowski and cinematographer Łukasz Żal drag you straight into the time period and mindset of the main couple. There's great use of reflections throughout the film (most obviously with the shot of Wictor and Irena leaning on that huge mirror). The sound in this film is also among the best I've ever heard.
