Flawlessly executed superhero film that excels in keeping the focus solely on Peter Parker and his struggles and humanity rather than getting carried away in throwing everything they can at the screen. A blockbuster that values character, story and soul above spectacle and action, yet nails both aspects anyway. Nativity 2: Danger in the Manger is quite possibly the worst Christmas film I have ever seen. I thought the first was cute albeit tedious, but this one jumps the shark in all the worst ways. Such a beautiful and wholesome animation with loads of laughs and an incredibly brisk runtime.

I'm not usually drawn to music biopics that much (it feels like they've mostly failed to evolve following the thorough skewing provided by Walk Hard), and I have no attachment to Robbie Williams at all. But Better Man is one of those rare music biopics that not only managed to justify its own existence, but justify the entire genre and make it feel worth slogging through the cliché and mediocre entries just in case we get something like this. It's…
