I sat down and said “I really just wanna watch a movie.”
Got to the point where there were too many options that I was giving myself and needed to pick one. The room dims, a light shines dramatically on: Camp Hideout. The cover caught my attention- caricature drawings. I read the description, ok doesn’t sound horrible. I thought: ok I need to choose something, this seems like an absurdist comedy, let’s just watch it.
And I did.

Paul NOOO don’t turn evil :( you’ve got everything you need right there. Zendaya and worm surfing, what more could you ask for???
I went into this with no expectations and left disappointed.
It felt like they wouldn’t or couldn’t choose between trying to be sexy and telling a story. Also it got sexist imo. Way too many parallels to children, made me uncomfortable.
Antonio Banderas popped off at one point tho, and I thought he gave a really good performance for that.
