One of the coziest movies I’ve seen. Immediately fell in love with this family and their lives. An excellent vessel for the joy and pain of childhood (particularly the childhoods of girls). The cast is absolutely stacked, Greta is a great director, and the story is classic. There was no way for this to be bad.
I’ve never seen the 94 version and didn’t know the story. Despite (or because of?) that, I liked the split timelines. For me, starting…

The image of the fog men standing in formation was creepy as hell every time. Long live the tradition of scaring kids with ghost stories around a camp fire.
