  Gradually sinking into the pores of the island's skin was an enjoyable experience but attempts at horror were inauthentic and melodramatic. It feels more influenced by a dark matter of movies like The Lighthouse and Wicker Man (probably engineered by bafta agents) and less from a bone-chilling experience of losing relations to your surroundings. (Unless Mark Jenkin went mad while filming on this island.) Bait was very compelling in achieving this effect. 16mm images amplified the landscape with lively clarity, texture and depth of field - a special quality
