Better than the cringe title suggests. You know from minute one that grumpy writer Morgan Freeman moving next door to a bubbly family of girls will thaw him, but there is a simple pleasure to be had just hanging out with these characters. The stakes could have been a tad higher - nothing of note really happens, it just breezes along - but otherwise I enjoyed Freeman's character a lot.

The Last Mimzy 2007
On a 'most underrated movies' list, this would be near the top. A smart, Spielbergian tale of two kids who discover mysterious objects sent from a dying future. What's unusual about it for a kids film is it never talks down to the audience, it has a great cast, great FX & even a Pink Floyd theme song! What's not to love? So of course its science-can-save-the-world message was rejected by America :(
