Same rating on rewatch. Stunning in many ways and a fun watch, I'm glad Villeneuve was the one to do it, but there are many obvious shortcomings, annoying progressions, and moments of surprisingly middling acting - and what a bleh ending! Glad part 2 winnowed off some (though not all) of the chaff.
Lots of big kablows, aaahs and wubwubs, fitting for what was described in the novel.

12 Angry Men 1957
A wonderful first viewing of 12 angry men on the screen rather than on the stage. Wonderfully done; amazing acting and great cuts! My one complaint was that the sounds from the rain and the end credit soundtrack were awfully loud compared to the quieter voice track; the audio could have been recorded with a bit more thought - but also, how can one be so critical of a classic in modern days?
