  There's something about a movie that tries to get by without any dialogue (or almost no dialogue) that appeals to me on some level.

  While I enjoyed this, it felt like a lot of subtext and its gravitas didn't quite connect until the last 20 or 30 minutes, even though I felt the presence of gravitas from tone in the first hour. I could stand a re-watch.

  Yeah, that second half of part 2... went in an interesting direction and I don't know how I feel about the epilogue. Really solid up until that. I appreciated the "yeah, that's about the right level of racism, I'd expect," from the van Buren character in a way that felt really well written.
