This does everything Megalopolis did but is so much more enjoyable due to how genuinely bonkers it is. There's a plot, it might make sense but it's there. There's a pretentious vision, but more based on what was recent history at the time. Seriously this is one of THE post-9/11 films to every come out during the Bush era. It's fascinatingly bizarre and a fun time with a group that's never seen it before.

This was pretty spooky! The striking cinematography really makes for a consistently creepy atmosphere. While I found some plot elements annoying the overall horrific speculation this film offers is well worth experiencing.

Through all the crass humor, pop culture celebration and Katzenberg being a petty asshole this is such a great experience. There's a genuine wit to the writing and animation. Plenty of jokes work due to how expressive and snappy the key animation is during delivery. Add in how well the film handles its themes concerning the relationship between inner & outer beauty and I'll always go to bat for this film. Arguably the biggest cultural reset of 2001.

This is probably my favorite film of the decade so far. Peele channels all these overwhelming emotions about an industry he loves into something I consider to be a lightening in a bottle. Sure, this premise could be done again, but there'll never be another film like NOPE. It reminds me of what we truly resonate with about this art form.
