Overlord 2018
Playing around with body horror and intense violence, the most terrifying thing about this WWII flick, strangely enough, isn't the Bioshock/Wolfenstein-like elements but the depictions of Nazi occupation and their stranglehold on innocent civilians. A tight, well-paced tale with an excellent cast and an opening sequence that is so visceral and horrifying that it was almost in danger of overshadowing the rest of the upcoming scares.
