A comedy nearly beyond description, whose true horror is not the impulsive violence that's laughed off given its coating of housewife respectability, but instead the random character that trained her dog to lick her feet 🤮

Vertigo 1958
Watched it scored live by the philharmonic in a full room. It was moving in the most troubling way, impressive in a way I recognized from decades of media but still fell for, hook, line, sinker. Upsetting, as meant to be, and additionally so as several members of the audience broke out into laughter that didn't only seem nervous. I'll never watch it again, but am very glad I did.
