Incredibly funny. Cronenberg's films are always wildly creative but every single scene of this one had me in stitches. Weller is perfect as this deadpan laissez-faire gay misogynist with a bug fetish. In fact all members of the stacked cast do incredible work. This is surrealist body horror Airplane as far as I'm concerned.

Really interesting to watch Naked Lunch after seeing Existenz. There is a ton of shared DNA between the two. Cronenberg iterates on making intensely dreamlike experiences,…

Glad I finally got around to watching this one. Super funny and creative and full of curiosity, much like Bella herself. Poses a lot of questions to ponder like: How do we learn about the world? How do we learn about ourselves? When do we grow up? Why do we prevent ourselves from admitting love? It's a joy to be left with an abundance of topics to think about on the way out of the theater. Lovely in every regard.

This starts out as a silly maximalist live-action cartoon and then goes on to become one of the greatest sports films of all time.

Watched at my incredible local theater, organized as an all-day event by staff. My first Ingmar Bergman to boot! Sad I didn't have time to hang out for the afterparty :'(

Loved how this presents the experience of childhood and fraternal love. Fanny and Alexander's bond is almost completely silent. Rarely do they speak directly to each other. They hold on to each other as they are carried by the raging currents of adult lives.
