A beautiful film, with beautiful direction. The golden yellow photography at the start—and its use later too—was so pretty that the initial switch to the equally great full colour hit like a truck. I will have to sit on this for a while to see what I can fully decipher from it. My first impression? A tale of consummation, faith, and life, in a world that chews on then spits out its souls. Great baldness diversity on display. Okay, google. Directions to The Zone, please?

viggo mortensen carrying this damn movie on his back by being a little camp with it. honestly had a "fun" time. yes, it has problems but it is so completely ignorant of them that, in a way, it ends up being funny. funny to laugh at. whatever.
what if you made a "show don't tell" movie where the "show" part was stupid and ignorant and the "tell" part was actually saying the opposite of the former? this is almost that movie
