Songs = perfection. Story = severely lacking. Had high expectations for the chemistry between Whitney and Kevin and it’s certainly there but not enough!! Really wish Whitney had more of a chance to sink her teeth into a better role but she ate nonetheless.

Unsettling down to your bones.
After opening on a series of prophetic portrait-like stills the movie really just throws you in head first and the first half is a wild ride. Kirsten Dunst is a chameleon and seamlessly slips into her role of a woman desperately trying to ‘be happy’ (as everyone keeps telling her) and falling into melancholic despair anyways. Anaïs is such a complicated character: impulsive, flighty, careless, determined, frantic, earnest, adrift. You can go on and on, and at times you want to reach through the screen and tell her to slow down! She never takes a breath before throwing herself into the next thing with reckless abandon.
