Raising Arizona 1987
Raising Arizona presents to the audience multiple examples of people doing bad things and invites you to ask yourself whether that makes them a fundamentally bad person. While its not a question with an actual answer it is interesting to try understand why you're willing to look past the mistakes the characters make.
I love Ed and HI, they remind me that the world could do with a little more forgiveness and understanding and a little less punishment and judgement.

Honestly? I loved it.
Sci fi is my favourite genre by far, but i feel its vulnerable to the same pitfalls as horror - fixating on the spectacle and action and not spending enough time letting us get to know the characters so we can actually care about their journey. This film went the absolute opposite way, spent most of the films runtime showing us the evolution of the characters and how time travel coincided with their development.
