Eraserhead 1977
Quintessential Lynch. His world’s are mesmerizing in how he is able to balance dark uncomfortable confusion with humor and hyperbole. This movie speaks to his time in philly as a new parent and captures such a specific emotion. I got lots of themes that felt relatable to my experience living paycheck to paycheck in nyc and being unsure about parenthood etc. Also death as this weird comforting yet simultaneously unsettling figure? I could unpack and discuss this movie forever so I’m just gonna leave it there. Note to self: do not watch when becoming a new parent.

THIS MOVIE IS SO SWEET WTH 😭 the animation style is gorgeous and neil is a fat icon and we love taking a witch story and adding a feminist angle. im just a sucker for an underdog story especially when it’s cute weirdo kids cause i was one lol.

This film is wiiiiiild wth!! SUCH a good red herring, love that it was split into 3 parts, and I had no clue what was going to happen next for the entirety of the film. It was one completely absurd twist after another. Also love its commentary on classism, racism, and gender based violence. Also the “monster” kind of redeeming herself was bad ass. Very creepy and icky horror with Justin Long playing the most hatable predator/victim ever. What more can I ask for?

One of my fav horror movies ever! Claustrophobic, jarring, deep underground with no where to go, AND an all woman cast with?? Genius concept for a horror story. I think I prefer the UK ending more which I just recently discovered existed because it loops in the thread with her daughter beautifully 🥺 And Juno just being the fucking WORST the whole time is a much needed foil to our BAD ASS final girl.
