  I love early Dylan and 60s American music in general so this was fun for me. I really enjoyed the music scenes. And the acting from Barbaro and Fanning was compelling. But all the characters, including Dylan, felt underdeveloped. I guess biopic writers don't work very hard at making compelling characters out of people that audiences already are real. But this doesn't mean biopic writing has to be mediocre. Sorkin's Steve Jobs comes to mind.

  I was enjoying it easily until they tell that Wyman (52) married Mandy Smith... a 18 year-old... who he'd been seeing for a while... for years..??? ummm...

  And they just brush past it. I'm not even sure they say her age. I had to look it up. I think they have a responsibility to address it and analyze the problematic logic that allows those things to happen.

  After that, it kind of spoiled the movie. It made me see it as a vain self-portrait unwilling to be self-critical or even self-aware.
