Love Andrea Arnold… and rly liked this. Although some parts felt a little odd, the more I’ve thought about it the more I’ve warmed to it and feel I can understand Arnold’s vision. I think some of the ambiguity of the storyline can be justified by the fact that we are witnessing these events through a child’s perspective and imagination…It’s brutal whilst also preserving a tenderness and I agree with others that the magical realism is very Miyazaki-esque, which is what I loved…!

A Real Pain 2024
Watching it twice in the same week has solidified how special this film truly is. I haven't been so touched by something like this in a bit. I was really moved by the performances and felt a lot of empathy for both characters. Jesse Eisenberg’s script is fantastic, very funny and heartbreaking all at once. It’s a simple and yet nuanced look into grief and inter-generational trauma, it’s not about pain it is pain
