Solid Marvel film tbh. I think unfortunately the marketing spoilt the big reveal in the trailers prior to release. The rest of the film is a great watch to be fair, with the action and cgi character looking amazing. A couple of shots the cgi/green screen for the background behind the actors didn’t look super which is a surprise for marvel. But the film is definitely not as bad as some are saying.

Everything that was wrong with Joker: Folie à Deux, Emilia Perez got absolutely spot on. I really don’t like musicals or films that have a strong amount of musical sections, but this, entwined with all the drama and action, was brilliant. Literally just a couple of things stop it from being full marks. Closest film to 5 stars without giving it 5 stars.

The Holdovers is a funny and sympathetic film at the same time. It is a piece of media which understands the brief, and thrives on its material.
The comedy is hilarious. Laugh out loud in fact with each line delivered brilliantly. All the actors should be applauded for this. They should also be applauded for how they handle the films more somber moments when it tackles difficult subjects.
Paul Giamatti is outstanding throughout and should be strongly considered in this…
