Starting out as a charming caricature of life in rural Minas Gerais, filled with shenanigans and cute and funny moments, this movie is just a pleasant heartwarmer.
For fans of Turma da Monica, you'll find lots of joy in seeing the beloved characters from the Chico Bento gibis. For those not acquainted with the wonderful world of cartoonist Mauricio de Sousa, the expressive and endearing characters following through with a journey of friendship, compassion, and community will surely put a smile on your face.

Upon a second viewing, I really loved the pacing of this film. The balance of action, humour, and sentiment is very well done and doesn't dillydally all too much, while still filling a solid 90 minute runtime.
Are all main characters enjoyable? No. Is the twist villain fully explored and given enough time? No. Is Sox adorable? Yes. So that's all that matters.

Obviously, it disrespect Laurie character from the get-go and fails to earn the respect of the audience back with cardboard characters, a default horror setting, and no real purpose to what's going on.
