  Real fun revolutionary movie. Wrestles with the idea of revolution and struggle against a colonial power as a violent, conservative old guard loses their grip on a wild and wooly youth. Reaches a confused but satisfied middle.

  Does all the things a television movie of Hamlet would do but does not cut a single second of dialogue. Made so you know what it was like to have a fever in your grandma’s house in 2009 watching the most boring, blown out, toothless go at Hamlet on her box TV. Billy Crystal was fun.

  Martin Scorsese’s got me by the balls here, I won’t lie. I got suckered in by a handsome Tom Cruise and a sexy Paul Newman using pool cues to do all the fucking. Yeah, this movie has real things too. An incredible look, some of Scorsese’s best shots, a push and pull that’s absolutely electric. All the same, most gay men I know would throw it all away to have a relationship like that.

  A realization of a tug-of-war. Tries to get to the bottom of work-life balance and only comes out terrified it’s too late. The failure to meet the requirements is a foregone conclusion, one loves the rush a bit too much. Incredibly funny, shot like a bored concertgoer people watching and making a story as it goes along. Russ is also here, can’t quite get that one figured out.
