  lots of pretty things, some great performances

  felt like Villeneuve was forced to distance himself emotionally and stylistically in order to squeeze in the bucket loads of exposition and world building that the book is famous for. was very void of any personality which left me feel feeling pretty cold towards it. I would even argue that the signature Villeneuve style giant slabs of SCI-FI concrete felt like someone imitating his previous films rather than coming from the man himself…
