  I have never cried at a mob film before but this one cracked me. Maybe it’s because of its long run time but I feel like Scorsese yet again proves his ability to portray mortality and existentialism through the way he tells his stories. Following Frank from not even his youthful years, all the way up to what I presume is near his death, feels hopeful yet tragic. Bitter sweet.
