Visually stunning, cleverly adapted and quite fun, but the style wears out a little before 40 minutes of it and it's by far the least involving of the four films.

The Man in the White Suit 1951
The ending is a horrible cop out that takes the sting out of an otherwise sharp satire. Guinness is excellent though and I love the way it looks almost like a live action Wallace and Gromit

Hard Truths 2024
Stays just this side of being too grim to stay invested in it. Jean-Baptiste is giving a performance unbeaten by anything else last year and the other major roles are competing in a similar league. Feels incredibly well observed, very true to life. Oddly, very funny in places. Perhaps it falls down in not really coming to any sort of resolution, although on the other hand it's hard to really see how it could have one without losing that authenticity.
