Requiem for a Dream 2000
Aronofsky truly did something to my mental stomach by presenting how addictions can truly be a crippling force through to its fleeting pleasure and immense cost. The mother being addicted to (diet) pills and her son to heroin. It offers a warning to society on the normalization of pharmaceutical dependency, while highlighting the how the inequal distribution of wealth can exacerbate marginalized communities into addiction and complicated environments. I am cut from different cloth however, and the only wreckage left in my wake shall be that of the dreams of those who stand against me. (Ill get narcan)
