There are loads of reasons why I love Normal People. First of all, the acting by Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones is phenomenal, the series wouldn’t have really worked if they didn’t have the magic chemistry that they have and it is one of very few things that I have ever watched where I could actually believe two characters were in love. Some of my favourite takes and sequences that I have ever seen, especially the militia guard sequence. The camera tracks and explores each beautiful set throughly. In terms of set and costume design and attention to detail, I would say this is one of the best films out there - each costume is meticulous and the visual motif of the colour red representing lust, passion and violence is stunning.
