I watched this high on painkillers in 2004 while recovering from having my wisdom teeth removed.

Revisiting it was weird. I was 17 in 2004 and it took me right back. It reminded me just how damn straight and white everything was back then. White bro humor exemplified.

Rather a chore to sit through I'm afraid!

    ****

The Big Lez Show: Choomah Island 3

    ★★★★½

The tonal shift in the Big Lez story happened in Choomah Island 2: after creator Jarrad Wright had a significant psychadelic experience in his personal life. While the show was set on a course of violence, bro-humor, drugs and revenge as usual - Choomah Island 2 set in motion an arc of reflection and redemption for Big Lez (and I suspect, Jarrad himself) that would be fully realised in this finale.

Between the usual shenanigans, there are genuine moments here.…
