I like a lot here: The animation, the cuteness of the animals (every meow is precious), the themes of life, survival, and nature, the fact it’s a film aimed at kids with no dialogue, that final shot… but it feels more like a short film that’s been stretched out into a feature.

Urgh… so, it’s one of these fan films.

Spectacle over substance, production over narrative, all in aid of a fan casting that makes so much sense and yet the actor in question is hidden behind so many prosthetics, that it’s actively distracting.

Production values are great, David Howard Thornton does a good job with what little he has to work with, but this just reeks of “make David The Joker, who cares about the story”.
