The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey 2012
Some things in this movie are worse than I remember them being but the cast is still 14/10 (get it?) and the songs they sing are lovely and fun and I wish I could hug Martin Freeman’s Bilbo Baggins real big.
Bilbo is one of my favorite fictional characters of all time and I will never forgive them for ruining the Hobbit book to movie transition but man does Martin (and the team who helped the character come alive) really bring a sweet, anxious, homesick, lovely, brave, unlikely hero to life and I love them for that.

Sweet baby goth emo boy Bruce is my favorite. Selina is my favorite. Alfred is my favorite. This movie brought me life in the middle of the night which is when I watched it and am convinced is the only time to watch it.
Seriously though, character development, music, cinematography, themes, everything stellar.
The only thing I did not like was the forced complicit gaze on Selina when she was changing clothes. Seriously Hollywood, stop doing that. Loses half a star.
