I’ve never seen a portrayal of abusive households like this before, and probably never will again. shots of doorframes and dark hallways, minimal dialogue, and a general lack of the physical presence of a parent somehow perfectly captures the confusion of being a child in a broken home. the constant fear of having to tiptoe around a parent while still yearning for their care. not entirely understanding what’s happening, but knowing that it’s definitely not good.
