I've heard people say that this is a good film but a GREAT racing film, but... is it? As a film it's fine, it does a decent job at establishing the personalities of Hunt and Lauda but the racing scenes are so sauceless that it's impossible to distinguish between the driving styles of either men. Maestro proves that Bradley Cooper is a director capable of wrapping an often times bland script in a grand sweeping envelope of gorgeously vapid visuals, void of purpose outside the orchestral sequences.
