Not sure what I just watched. The whole thing was an outer body experience.
I get that Beau experiences psychological and physical trauma, but given the ending, what was the point?! What is the explanation?
Sometimes I guess, the journey is more important than the destination. But I had to take this 3 hour journey in segments.
Some great acting from Patti luPone and Joachim. I think the bizarre plot helped.

Ironic that the destination mattered more than the journey yet they made us watch four hours of film journey.
Loved the visuals, yet harrowing storylines.
Most interesting common thread was the juxtaposition between Laslo and Harrison’s ideals and goals, explored in the stories they tell each other. Harrison focuses on status as an end, while Laslo focuses on broader political goals. This tension is epitomised in the building Laslo creates, which Harrison wants to be a status symbol but Laslo makes into a powerful political statement of hope through personal struggle.
In a moment of weakness I was persuaded to go. Cheesy, cheap thrills, and predictable, if that’s your thing.

Elizabeth Olsen is masterful as Candy. Some parts were slow, but the flash forwards kept it suspenseful.
Also what a wild character arc for real life Candy, from axe murderer to family therapist, if all it takes is someone to say "shhh" to send her into a lobotomising frenzy.
