Emma. 2020
Just finished reading Jane Austen’s Emma and loved it. This adaption does it justice! The costuming was absolutely fantastic, I loved the color progression for Mr. Knightley and Mrs. Elton’s “over trimming” in particular. I think they did an excellent job of including the most important details without making it seem drawn out or hard to follow. Jane Austen novels are great adaptation fodder since some of the exchanges between characters are summarized and she implies a lot that isn’t directly said. The casting was fantastic, I especially loved Mia Goth as Harriet, and Tanya Reynolds as Mrs. Elton.
