It's a Wonderful Life 1946
It’s certainly antiquated in places (“old maid”? She’s single and employed relax) but that ending pummels me to the ground until I’m sobbing. There is so much love to be found not just in family but in our friends and community. And no wonder Capra was investigated by the FBI this is as close to commie propaganda America has had and we thank him for it.

The end of this movie gives the viewer the same feeling these characters experience, quiet longing for something more. I just want every character to achieve this undefined happiness they obviously want but can't put into words. I kept expecting a complete resolution, for someone to gain something and to be noticeably better off because of it. But that would make it too simple and derivative.
