Barbarian 2022
Not a classic suspense/thriller/horror in all the senses, but I still really enjoyed it. The first half had loads of build up and really interesting development, and the second half was a bit more chaotic, but I think this fit quite well. Loved the filming style too, some classic examples of how to frame shots and draw interest to particular areas which we don’t often see anymore, going back to the basics of drawing intrigue in a shot

Was a little disappointed, maybe it’s because of the hype I built up around this.. I think if I knew more about Miyazaki’s life it may have been better.. A rewatch is definitely due.. Otherwise this film was so confusing and if the reason for it being so confusing is “because tragedy” and how people process things, it just feels a bit lazy to me..
