The fact that kubrick chose Also sprach Zarathustra as theme in the begining is too damn beautiful. The literature by Nietzsche has as one of the main themes: the superior human being raising to the next state of human kind. As the black monolith symbolizes evolution in 2001: A Space Odyssey the last part of the baby may be that super huamn being surpassing god and bring enlightenment to our race.
