  I feel like the drawings and sculptures of cats throughout this animation were self referential. Like… Perhaps these drawings are meant to be understood as sketches and early frames of the animation itself. Thus, within the story, the creator of these drawings was the animator themself, as they progress through the artistic evolution of the cat.
