Once I made peace with the runtime of this film, I was all in. The visuals are astoundingly beautiful — especially when they are in the mountains to pick out the marble as well as the industrial landscapes.
I have too many thoughts about this film but I’m SO glad I saw it. Totally worth the 3.5 hours (though part of me is like okay it’s extremely pretentious of a filmmaker to not edit that down to a reasonable runtime).
Beautiful film, wish I saw it in a movie theatre. It’s a fascinating exploration of the ways relationships, especially familial relationships that we have to maintain sometimes out of obligation, change for better or for worse.
The last shot of Culkin sitting in the airport really made it all make sense to me (I think?). Throughout the movie we see how David’s denial of pain closes him off to relationships and experiences, while Benji experiences all the beauty, pain, and…
Really compelling characters. Goes beyond gender affirming surgery as the ultimate goal by showing the aftermath of surgery and the problems that people still must deal with even after surgery. I really enjoyed the broad spectrum ages in the film!

Also the plot👏does👏not👏make👏sense👏
